Welcome to the Rein Guitars website. At present, the site is a bit thin on pictures, but I will be remedying that fairly soon as time allows.
Noticeably absent are the seemingly standard-issue navigation tabs of “Philosophy” and “Testimonials” I see on many of my colleagues’ sites. I hope that my philosophy, if it can be called that, becomes evident to you as you scroll around the site and read the content. Testimonials are necessary in trials and church, but the only way you can decide if one of my guitars is right for you is to try one yourself. I have some guitars at dealers throughout the country and some for sale directly from me. I extend a one-week, money-back trial period for a potential purchaser to try my guitar in his or her own setting.
I prefer to sell guitars that are completed rather than taking orders. I have done it both ways and I find the known entity of a completed guitar avoids what I call the Arranged Marriage aspect of ordering a guitar. My analogy is this: In an arranged marriage, a potential spouse is located and all the fussy details are worked out. In the ensuing months, it is only natural to build a construct in one’s mind as to what your intended will be like: appearance, temperament, ambition, etc. When the day arrives and your spouse is presented, it is doubtful if all the dreams that you have built up in your mind will be met.
However, if you met the very same person at a party, concert, club, or were introduced with no pre-conceived notions, you might concentrate on the good aspects, fall in love and have a lifelong relationship.
I am not saying that a made-to-order guitar is destined to fail. Merely that if an already made guitar impresses one greatly, it is probably best to buy that one, rather than embarking on the worrisome prospect of chasing down a dream.
