The 12-fret 00 is actually a fairly big guitar with a big sound. The location of the bridge at the sweet spot gives this guitar the characteristic 12-fret authority. Many modern examples of the 00 12-fret use 20 frets total, which puts the sound hole further down the soundboard. I don’t know anybody who buys a 12-fret guitar to play on the 20th fret! A 19 fret fingerboard yields more soundboard area below the sound hole and looks more proportional to my eye. A pyramid bridge tops off the vintage appearance.
